Implementing a coastal management program: preparing for a performance audit
Under Section 26 of the Coastal Management Act, the minister may ask the NSW Coastal Council to conduct a performance audit of the implementation of a local council’s coastal management program (at cost to the Government). The purpose of a performance audit is to determine whether a local council is effectively implementing a coastal management program, and to identify opportunities for capacity building of councils. Audit findings and conclusions will be presented back to the Minster.
