The booklets were part of a project designed to raise the profile of the unique historical experiences of Aboriginal women. The series won the 'cultural heritage' category of the Energy Australia National Trust Heritage Awards in 2005.
The 7 Aboriginal women Elders' stories recount the changes over the years and recall stories about the daily routines, like milking cows and fetching the household water from the river by bucket as there was no water to their houses.
