The Namoi/North West Slopes winter 2020 seasonal newsletter provides an overview of air quality in the region. Air quality in regional population centres in the Namoi/North West Slopes met national benchmarks on 98% of days in winter 2020 (90 days), compared to 96% (88 days) in 2019 and 92% (84 days) in 2018. The region recorded two days with concentrations of particle pollution above national benchmarks, due to domestic woodsmoke on 6 June and a widespread dust storm on 20 August 2020.
