As part of its environmental responsibilities, OEH assesses the impacts of activities within reserves and those impacting on the natural and cultural heritage of New South Wales.

The Guidelines have been prepared for anyone proposing to undertake an activity within lands reserved or acquired under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974. This includes both external proponents and OEH.
