The park covers 197 hectares. The lands to the south of the park are used for mixed purposes, including market gardening and horticultural enterprises, and are being progressively developed for low-density residential housing. The urbanisation of these surrounding lands poses a significant and ongoing challenge to the conservation of the natural values of the park.
