The Lismore air quality monitoring station is located at the Northern Rivers Aero Club, Lismore, in the New South Wales Northern Rivers region. During the bushfire emergency between November 2019 and March 2020, an emergency monitoring station measuring PM2.5 and PM10 was located in the Wilson Park School.
Commissioned: April 2020
Latitude: 28° 49' 28" S
Longitude: 153° 15' 24'' E
Elevation: 15 metres
The following air pollutants are measured at this station:
- Total Suspended Particles (TSP)
- Fine particles as PM2.5
- Fine particles as PM10
Data from the site is reported as hourly updated particle concentrations.
Continuous record – data from most rural sites is only collected in 15-minute intervals as the solar-powered instruments need to preserve energy.
Instrument limitations – instruments used at most rural network sites are low cost indicative particulate monitors that respond to all aerosols including smoke and fog. Do not interpret data from these sites as pollution without additional information.
