This document is the pest management strategy for the Northern Tablelands Region, which stretches from the NSW–Queensland border in the north, to below Walcha and Tamworth in the south and from around Warialda/Gunnedah in the west to half way down the escarpment in the east.
Mummel Gulf National Park and Mummel Gulf State Conservation Area are located approximately 40 kilometres south-east of Walcha and 85 kilometres west of Wauchope. Mummel Gulf National Park covers an area of 14,127 hectares, while Mummel Gulf State Conservation Area is 1162 hectares in size.
The amendments to Far South Coast Escarpment Parks Plan of Management, Kosciuszko National Park Plan of Management and Mummel Gulf National Park and State Conservation Area Plan of Management enable horse riding to continue in specific wilderness areas. These amendments were adopted by the Minister for the Environment on 13 February 2019.
