Environmental Water Advisory Group

Environmental Water Advisory Groups bring together a range of knowledge and experience to advise on options for use of both planned and held environmental water.

Environmental Water Advisory Groups work closely with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water to prioritise water for the environment for sites across inland New South Wales.

Advisory group representatives may include recreational fishers, landholders, Aboriginal groups, independent scientists, local government representatives and a variety of partner agencies along with environmental water managers from the department.

The groups meet regularly to discuss proposed or upcoming watering events, any issues or concerns, the results of watering events and future opportunities.
