Information provided in licence applications

It is an offence under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 to provide false or misleading information in, or in connection with a licence application.

Licence conditions

All licences are issued with conditions, including that records of all animals harmed under this licence must be provided to the Biodiversity and Heritage Regulator within 7 days of the expiry of the licence. It is an offence under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 to contravene a condition of a licence.

Public register

As required by the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016, a public register of biodiversity conservation licences is published on the department website. The public register does not include personal information of individuals (for example, name, postal and email address, phone number and date of birth). Information about the location of plants and animals covered by licences will be restricted to postcode.

You are not required by law to give us your information, but if you choose not to we may not be able to approve your application for a biodiversity conservation licence.

Firearms

If you are proposing to use firearms, provide your firearms licence details below.




If it is proposed that persons other than the landholder will harm kangaroos under this licence, the landholder must retain records of their names and firearms licence numbers and submit to the Biodiversity and Heritage Regulator within 7 days of licence expiry.

  • invoices or records relating to repair of damage
  • photographs of fencing, tree guards or other non-lethal management measures implemented
  • monitoring records or other information supporting estimates of animal numbers.

Previous licences


Please provide a Local Land Services rates notice and a map of property location to verify property owner, size and address. Additional information may also be required by the officer assessing this application.





If you have not submitted your record of return, these must be submitted within 7 days of the expiry of the licence.


Persons who have not submitted records of activities under previous licences may not be granted a new licence.

Declaration

For the purposes of the following questions, 'the applicant and associates' include the persons nominated to be authorised under this licence, any partner or other associate to these persons including relatives and friends, and any companies to which these persons have been a director or associated in the management of a corporation.
