In 2021–22, water managers in the Barwon–Darling will support remaining populations of native fish. Water management will provide opportunities for fish to breed and disperse into refuge habitat, supplying food resources.
Water managers will focus their efforts on supporting native fish populations in the Severn, Dumaresq, Macintyre and upper Barwon rivers. Water for the environment may be delivered to provide a low connection flow along the Dumaresq and Macintyre–Barwon system.
