The Minister may certify, or refuse to certify, that the draft coastal management program submitted to the Minister has been prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Act and the coastal management manual.

A coastal management program takes effect on the date on which it is published by the local council in the NSW Government Gazette or, if a later date is specified in the program for its commencement, on the later date so specified.

Northern Beaches Open Coast and Lagoons Coastal Management Program (Stage 3)

The CMP sets out a 10-year strategic plan to manage the coastline from Palm Beach to Manly, including four coastal lagoons.

North Creek Coastal Management Program (Stage 2)

The CMP takes a collaborative approach to improving catchment and estuary health while supporting sustainable, liveable communities

Newcastle Southern Beaches Coastal Management Program (Stage 3)

Provides a long-term strategy for managing the coastal zone between Nobbys Head in the north to Glenrock Lagoon in the south

Manning River Estuary Coastal Management Program (certified)

Sets a 10-year plan to sustain estuary values by reducing land-use impacts on water quality and ecosystem health

Merimbula and Back Lake Coastal Management Program (Stage 4)

The CMP builds on the objectives of the previous estuary management plan, while also addressing current issues for the estuaries
