Improving camping in NSW national parks: public consultation
Proposed improvements to camping in New South Wales national parks and reserves were recently placed on public exhibition from 15 April to 25 May 2025. The consultation has now closed.

Proposed changes include:
- the introduction of consistent state-wide camping fees
- simplified bookings to deliver fairer camping experiences for national park visitors
- improved management of persistent campground issues, such as people booking space and not cancelling or turning up.
The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is developing a submissions report that will summarise feedback received during the public consultation period. The submissions report will be published on this page for community information once complete. All community feedback received during the public consultation period will be considered before next steps are made.
