How much of your bioregion is conserved in parks and reserves?

A bioregion is an area of related ecosystems. There are 17 different bioregions in NSW, some of them well-represented in the park and reserve system, others not. As this map shows, there is a clear imbalance between the eastern and western areas of the state in the proportion of land set aside for conservation. We aim to balance up the picture, by focusing on western regions in our land acquisition program.
