Lodging an offset obligation

Office of Environment and Heritage is monitoring the operation of the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme, including measuring biodiversity losses and gains across the scheme.

Office of Environment Heritage is asking all decision makers to notify the LMBC Service Centre of the determination of every development or activity to which the Biodiversity Offsets Scheme applies.

Decision makers include local councils, Part 5 authorities and the Native Vegetation Panel.

This is an interim process. Office of Environment and Heritage intends to further develop the Biodiversity Offset and Agreement Management System and supporting processes to enable direct capture of this information. Decision makers will be consulted during the development of a solution in 2018.
