Energy Savings Scheme
The Energy Savings Scheme (ESS) helps businesses save money on their energy efficiency projects. Under the Energy Savings Scheme, eligible projects can have certificates generated by accredited certificate providers (ACPs), based on the number of tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent abated.
Getting money back for your upgrade
The easiest way for businesses to access funds for their project under the Energy Savings Scheme is to contact an ACP.
The ACP Directory has been established to help businesses locate a suitable ACP by location, industry sector and project technology type. Some projects, in particular lighting, can have certificates deemed for 10 years upfront, significantly reducing the cost of an upgrade project.
The Energy Savings Scheme is administered by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal. Further details on the scheme are available on the ESS website.
