Mungo National Park - historic heritage plan

March 2003

Mungo National Park lies on the site of two old pastoral stations - Mungo pastoral station and Zanci pastoral station. Many decades of farming resulted in a rich cultural heritage, going beyond the park's famous woolshed.

A conservation management and cultural tourism plan has been developed for this pastoral heritage. The plan:

  • comprehensively evaluates Mungo National Park's pastoral history
  • integrates Mungo's pastoral history into the broader human history of the area
  • provides a conservation and tourism planning framework for Mungo's pastoral history in the future.
