Kurnell (Kamay Botany Bay National Park)
The Visitor Centre includes an art gallery, theatrette, historical exhibition, shop and café. The First Encounters Exhibition currently displays works of art from the Aboriginal community, the Australian Marine Art Society and photographs of the area's natural beauty by park rangers.
The Burrawang Walk begins at the Visitor Centre. The walk lets you imagine what Kamay Botany Bay National Park looked like in 1770. The walk features interpretive signs on cultural and natural history, native plants that would have been growing in the area at the time of Cook's arrival and a soundscape that brings the Aboriginal connections to this area to life. The track is wheelchair accessible except for the section that climbs over the dune and can be accessed from the visitor centre carpark.
