Teachers' kit - What is a national park?
This award-winning teachers' kit is only available online and includes:
- comprehensive unit of work (12 lesson plans, outcomes and indicators, teacher's notes, student fact sheets
- student work sheets.

The teachers' kit has been written to help you teach about the values of our natural and cultural heritage. Students will learn about national parks, flora and fauna, management of natural areas, workers in national parks, historic and Aboriginal sites.
This unit expands upon the HSIE sample unit 'State and National Parks' from the HSIE syllabus support document. It also contributes to achieving the objectives of the NSW Environmental Education Policy for Schools.
The teachers' kit was developed by the NPWS in collaboration with the NSW Department of Education and Training. It won the Energy Australia National Trust NSW Heritage Award 2004 for Education in the Corporate/Government category.
