Bundjalung National Park: ilmenite stockpile removal and site rehabilitation proposal

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) awarded Flagship Commodities the tender to undertake the Ilmenite Stockpile Removal and Site Rehabilitation Proposal at Jerusalem Creek in Bundjalung National Park. The proposal is expected to commence in 2016 and will be completed over a number of years.

NPWS placed the Review of Environmental Factors for the proposal on public exhibition between 23 November 2014 and 30 January 2015. The submissions received were considered and a submissions report prepared which can be viewed below.

Review of public submissions

The Regional Operations Group, NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, considered the proposal on behalf of the NPWS as an activity under Part 5 in accordance with Section 111 of the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and determined the proposal may proceed subject to conditions. The determination of the proposal and the conditions can be viewed below.
