Help stop the spread of fire ants
The NPWS is working closely with NSW Agriculture to ensure that NSW remains free of fire ants.
If you think you have found fire ants, don't touch them or their nest, and don't use liquid (such as water and methylated spirits) to try and kill them. Instead, take one of the following steps:
1. Call NSW Agriculture on 1800 888 251
2. Carefully kill some larger ants (workers) that are away from the nest, using household insecticide spray. Use a spoon to scoop up the dead ants, place them in a sturdy plastic container, and take them to your local NPWS office or mail them to:
