The Basin Strategy
The Murray Darling Basin Commission's Basin Salinity Management Strategy (BSMS) guides communities and governments to work together to control salinity in the Murray-Darling Basin and protect key natural resource values within their catchments.
The BSMS endorses the end-of-valley salinity targets for each major river tributary in inland NSW and establishes a Basin-wide target at Morgan in South Australia. The BSMS reflects the shared responsibility for action between valley communities and between the States.
This strategy applies to nine inland Catchment Management Authority regions in NSW. For more information visit the Basin Salinity Management Strategy webpages.
