Resource Efficiency
Companies that reduce waste and use less material, energy and water will improve their bottom line.
The Sustainability Advantage Resource efficiency module builds capacity in lean manufacturing, cleaner production and supply chain efficiencies to achieve those results. Sustainability Advantage members find that the module generates great momentum for sustainability within their organisation because it drives tangible benefits from better operational processes.
Resource efficiency assists members to assess baseline data on material flows; identify opportunities through a business costs analysis; execute a resource efficiency Action Plan; and establish internal processes that drive innovation and savings.
Efficiency teams within participating companies pursue the best of the resource efficiency opportunities for 12 months or more.
Through a process of continual review, companies will continue to work on new Resource efficiency projects throughout the Sustainability Advantage Program.
While results depend on a company's own efforts, Sustainability Advantage assists its members with:
- practical workshops
- a comprehensive range of guides, case studies and templates
- phone and email advice
- feedback on company documents
- one-on-one specialist support.
Members also work with a cluster of like minded companies that offer mutual support, networking opportunities and specialist seminars. Members' efforts towards sustainability are promoted through the Sustainability Advantage Recognition Scheme.
Fast track energy efficiency
Companies now have the option of fast tracking to the Resource Efficiency module by combining it with an Energy Saver energy audit, for an introductory fee.
