Subsidised energy assessments and audits

What’s right for your business?

Energy Saver assessments and audits offer you a cost effective way to manage your energy. Small businesses will usually have an energy assessment while organisations with larger energy bills will have an audit. Contact us to determine the best option for your business.

Energy assessments

Through Energy Saver, small businesses can receive:

  • a subsidised energy assessment
  • a personalised Energy Action Plan
  • coordination assistance of up to four hours, where required, to help implement energy saving improvements.

Where lighting is the main user of energy, a full energy assessment and Action Plan may not be necessary, but other advice will be provided.

Where possible, we’ll help you access funding support for specific energy efficiency upgrades through the NSW Energy Savings Scheme.

Energy audits

Energy audits are prepared for larger businesses by experienced auditors, exceed Australian Standards and are reviewed by our team.

To define and prioritise the ways to improve your energy efficiency, your audit will:

  • investigate your past energy consumption to identify trends and anomalies
  • analyse your tariff and energy bill
  • break down your site’s energy use
  • identify numerous energy saving projects
  • calculate the energy cost and consumption savings, carbon emission savings, potential Energy Saving Certificates  and a payback period for each of these projects
  • detail an implementation plan and a measurement and verification plan
  • provide a NABERS rating (if required).

Technical and project support

Your energy audit will help you identify a range of energy efficiency projects. While some projects are straightforward, others may require further technical or project support. The program can subsidise up to 15 additional hours of auditor support, tailored to your business needs. This could include engineering design, project management, developing technical specifications or accessing financial assistance.

We will stay in touch with you at six months and 12 months after your audit, to find out whether you need further help to complete your energy efficiency projects.
