Companion native animals keepers licence

For those people who want to keep only one native reptile, bird or frog, the Department provides a simpler and cheaper licence type option called a companion native animal keeper licence.

Persons who acquire this licence type are not required to maintain and submit a fauna record book. However, the species that are permitted to be kept under this licence type are restricted to class 1 species  (currentspecieslist.pdf, 431KB) and a maximum of one animal is allowed to be kept at any one time. Other licence conditions apply.
