Organics Infrastructure - Home Composting

Organics Infrastructure (large and small) - Stream 4 Home Composting grants programs has been discontnued.

Purpose

Stream 4 - Home Composting supported compost bins and/or worm farms to enhance council organics waste management and home composting programs. 

This program was delivered through a partnership between the EPA and the NSW Environmental Trust. Additional information can be found on the EPA website.

Funding

Contestable grants of between $5,000 and $75,000 per council were available, covering up to 50% of the project’s eligible costs. Applicants that were willing to contribute more were favoured in the grant assessment process.

Who could apply?

Organisations eligible to apply included:

  • NSW councils
  • Regional Organisation of Councils
  • Other local-government controlled organisations (or deemed to have the same local government function)
  • Partnerships of councils.

The reporting templates for Stream 4 - Home Composting grantees are provided below. (A quick link is also available on the right-hand column of the main page). Grantees should refer to their Deed/Letter of Agreement for documents and evidence to be submitted in addition to the documents below.

FormPurpose
Project Measures Captures projected and achieved quantitative data for your project. The same report should be built on and submitted for each milestone.
Milestone Report Communicates your project’s progress and achievements as set agreed milestones during the project.
Final Report Communicates your project’s final achievements on project completion.
Statement of Expenditure A statement of expenditure is required with each milestone and final report.

  • Round 3 allocated $21,475 to 1 project.
  • Round 2 allocated $385,088 to 7 projects
  • Round 1 allocated $1.23 million to 4 projects
