History

The Kameruka was wrecked on Pedro Reef  Moruya on the 16/10/1897 while on a voyage from Twofold Bay to Sydney.  The owner at the time was the Illawarra Steam Navigation Company.  Loss of life unknown.

The 515-ton steel screw steamer was built by Russell and Company of Greenock United Kingdom in 1880.  The vessel had a length of 54.7 metres and a beam of 7.5 metres, powered by a compound engine.  Registration numbers 37/1890:75069.
