History

The Heroine was wrecked on 28 September 1850 at Richmond River, six miles south of Long Point. It capsized due to gale while sailing from Richmond River to Sydney.

The Heroine was a wooden schooner owned by James Miller. It was built in Moruya River, New South Wales, in 1846. It was 36 gross tons, 13.9m long, 4.5m wide and had a draft of 2.1m. The vessel was used for transporting cargo along the coast and was registered as carrying cedar timber.
