History

The  wooden barquentine Ada collided with the Jeddo and finally sank near Bradleys Head, in Sydney Harbour, on the 17th of July, 1865, later to be refloated.  Built in Yarmouth and registered in Liverpool, the 39.8 metre British international cargo carrier was on a journey from Port Jackson to Shanghai transporting coal.  At the time of the event Captain Williamson was owner and master of the vessel.
