The largest vessel wrecked in the Seal Rocks region. After departing Sydney for Singapore and Calcutta, Captain Hugill attempted to pass through the inner Seal Rocks channel. At 12.45 a.m. on 20 August 1910, Satara struck the Edith Breaker and was fatally holed, sinking in twenty minutes. Plunging bow first, a huge explosion rocked the vessel as it sank. Only two of the 89 aboard drowned, the others rescued by two passing steamers. Built in 1901 at Dumbarton, Scotland by Denny Brothers of 5272 tons gross and length of 124 metres. Owned by the British India Steam Navigation Company. Registered Glasgow with Official Number 113995. The wreck site has been located.
