NSW annual air quality statement 2021: Focus areas

We continue to improve our air quality monitoring, reporting, forecasting and research capabilities to meet the data and information needs of the people of New South Wales.

This statement presents 4 focus topics describing air quality issues and general developments on air quality in the State during 2021.

The focus areas include two case studies examining air quality in the Hunter Valley and at Stockton in the Port of Newcastle. It includes a section outlining changes to the National Environment Protection (Ambient Air Quality) Measure (NEPM) standards for gaseous pollutants in 2021, and another on recent achievement in air quality monitoring, reporting, forecasting and research.
