Old Government Cottage at Bathurst

"Bathurst contains a number of residential buildings from the late Government period of 1835 to 1850, but most of these represent a different class of building, being the homes the wealthy and landed settlers. ... This then makes [Old Government Cottage] a rare building in terms of style, period and purpose. Old photos of central Bathurst show this cottage is aesthetically typical of the earliest period in its use of materials: brick walls and simple gable ended roof originally and now once again clad in timber shingles, of simple styling with multi paned double hung windows and paneled doors."
