Check for national park flood closures ahead of June long weekend
Many flooded or water-logged areas will likely remain closed during the June long weekend (7-9 June) and for some time afterwards, with strong winds forecast this week potentially causing further damage.
Before leaving home, check park closure updates on the NSW national parks alerts page.
See livetraffic.com for the latest on road closures. For your safety, always follow road signage directions and never drive into floodwaters.

- Diamond Head campground and Kylies Beach campground in Crowdy Bay National Park have reopened, however visitors are advised that road access has deteriorated. NPWS is unable to commence grading work ahead of the long weekend due to weather conditions.
It is also important people book campsites on the NSW national parks camping and accommodation page.
For existing campground bookings impacted by this severe weather event and park closures, NPWS has notified customers and provided full refunds.
NPWS is also continuing work to reopen partially or entirely closed parks in coming months following ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred, as some sites with more extensive damage may take further time to fully repair and recover.
The safety of people affected by flooding is a priority, and people in areas affected by flooding and severe weather are urged to remain vigilant and check the NSW State Emergency Service website for regular updates or the Hazards Near Me app. For assistance during floods and storms, call the NSW SES on 132 500 or Triple Zero (000) for life threatening emergencies.
If you find an animal injured, in distress, disoriented, heavily waterlogged, or in an unexpected location, you should seek advice from a trained wildlife rescuer or vet via the IFAW Wildlife Rescue app. Do not put yourself or others in danger attempting to rescue wildlife.
To report a stranded, injured or entangled whale, dolphin, seal or other marine mammal, please contact the ORRCA rescue hotline on 02 9415 3333 or the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service on 1300 072 757 (13000 PARKS).
