Air quality at regional population centres in the Namoi/North West Slopes met national benchmarks on 96% of winter days from 1 June to 31 August 2019. The Air Quality Index2 was good to very good for 53% of the season and fair for 43% of the season. Air quality in population centres was poor to hazardous on four days during winter 2019.
