Bents Basin State Conservation Area is approximately 48 hectares and adjoins the 359-hectare Gulguer Nature Reserve. The parks are located on the edge of the Cumberland Plain and the Blue Mountains uplift. The geomorphological processes and actions of the Nepean River have resulted in a diverse range of landforms including plateaus, deeply incised gorges, scour pool and riverine floodplains.
