This report is part of a major project that addressed the research question: How does cultural heritage, as an activity field, enhance Aboriginal wellbeing and how can cultural notions of wellbeing be applied to government policies concerned with Aboriginal people in New South Wales?

The report aimed to:

  • describe and analyse Australian and NSW State Government policies relating to wellbeing, with a focus on Aboriginal culture and heritage
  • describe and analyse the alignment between Australian, NSW and local Government wellbeing policies (and relevant legislation) and consideration of the nature of Aboriginal community participation in this area
  • describe the conceptual framework that underpinned the government policy framework.
