The North Coast IRVA builds on the IRVAs of the South East, Riverina Murray and
Metropolitan Sydney, and furthers the framework from which other regions can begin the vital
work required to prepare NSW for the impacts of climate change.
This process has
highlighted the depth and breadth of regional knowledge held by local officers, decisionmakers
and community leaders. The IRVA process provides a system for accessing that
wealth of information, and capturing it in a way that provides a basis for effective and
collaborative regional planning for a changing climate.
