Local Government Heritage Management Program Summary Heritage Strategy Annual Report 2011-12
This annual report presents an overview of the implementation of local government heritage strategies during 2011–12. A requirement of the Office of Environment and Heritage’s (OEH’s) NSW Heritage Grants Local Government Heritage Management Program (the program) is that each council must prepare, adopt and implement a three-year heritage strategy.

Each council’s 2011–14 heritage strategy must be based on Recommendations for
local government on heritage management (Office of Environment and Heritage and the
Heritage Council of NSW 2011) and the nine recommendations in this document.
Each council must report annually on the implementation of their heritage strategy. The
annual report should be prepared by the council’s heritage advisor and heritage officer, using
a standardised annual reporting template supplied by OEH. This template contains nine
outcomes which are linked with the nine recommendations noted above.
