The Minister for Local Government on 2 August 2019 under section 25(1)(a)(ii) of the Coastal Management Act 2016, requested the NSW Coastal Council to undertake a review of the compliance of Newcastle Council in its development and implementation of the Newcastle Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP). The aim of the review is to understand how the implementation of a certified CZMP is progressing, to identify any issues or opportunities and present recommendations on how to better enable implementation of the CZMP.
