Parks, reserves and protected areas within the national parks system cover a diverse range of environments that we manage for conservation.

Lands categorised as state conservation areas are reserved to protect natural and cultural heritage without restricting mining and exploration activities. These areas are reviewed every 5 years to assess whether there is still a need for the 2 uses.

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service manages 4 of these areas.
