Public register of threatened species licences
Threatened species licences are a type of biodiversity conservation licence granted under Part 2 of the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 (BC Act) to:
- harm to an animal that is a threatened species or part of a threatened ecological community
- pick a plant that is a threatened species or part of a threatened ecological community
- damage habitat of a threatened species or ecological community, or
- damage a declared area of outstanding biodiversity value.
The public register of threatened species licences provides information about licences administered since 25 August 2017, following commencement of the BC Act. The register will include information about licences that are new, varied, suspended or cancelled.
