The Namoi/North West Slopes spring 2019 seasonal newsletter provides an overview of air quality in the region.
Air quality at regional population centres in the Namoi/North West Slopes met national benchmarks on 59% of spring days (54 days) from 1 September to 30 November 2019. The Air Quality Index was poor to hazardous on 37 spring days (41%). Air quality was affected by dust storms and bushfire smoke, during the prolonged, intense drought and extreme bushfire weather conditions.
