This statement identifies the planning and prioritisation of water for the environment across the Gwydir catchment with a focus on supporting waterbirds, native fish and their habitats.

In 2023–24, NSW water managers will support waterbirds and native fish, and their habitats, by making deliveries as planned and in response to rainfall and natural river flows.

Water managers will respond to rainfall and natural flows to support water-dependent assets in the Gwydir catchment.

In 2024–25, environmental water managers will continue to build on the outcomes of previous years to improve the health of the Snowy and Snowy montane rivers.
