This indigenous land use agreement is between the Githabul people, the Githabul Nation Aboriginal and the NSW Government. The agreement extends across a number of national parks and state forest reserves, including world heritage-listed areas.

Captains Creek Nature Reserve lies within the upper catchment of the Clarence River, about 5 kilometres south-west of Urbenville, in north-eastern New South Wales. The reserve was formerly part of the Beaury State Forest and Captains Creek Flora Reserve. The area of the reserve is 2325 hectares.
