The lllawarra Escarpment State Conservation Area protects an area of 2772 hectares, extending for some 40 kilometres between Stanwell Park and Dapto. The escarpment extends from Royal National Park south for approximately 50 kilometres to Budderoo National Park and Barren Grounds Nature Reserve. It is located approximately 60 kilometres south of Sydney.
